Actor & Singer
Liz Gurland is a New York-based actor performing in musicals and plays. Regional Theater: Fräulein Schneider in Cabaret (Mac-Haydn Theatre), Angie in The Wedding Singer (Mac-Haydn Theatre). She has performed with such diverse New York City area organizations as La MaMa E.T.C., New Jersey Verismo Opera, the Blue Hill Troupe, Heights Players, Amateur Comedy Club, Village Light Opera Group and The Big Little Theater. She created a one woman show in collaboration with the Emily Dickinson Museum.
While earning her Bachelor of Music and MFA at UC Irvine, she performed with Starlight Musical Theater in San Diego, the Touring Division of the Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Opera and Aspen Opera Theater. She studied opera and song literature for two summers at Music Academy of the West in Montecito.
Favorite roles include the title role in Mame, Liz Imbrie in High Society, Nellie in South Pacific and many Gilbert & Sullivan leading ladies. She worked in the Sam Shepard Festival produced by The Big Little Theater, appearing as Joy in Chicago and Love in Down and Out.
